Terms of Use

Last updated 12 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Joseph Citrola ("we", "us") for the Bible Shorts app and the bibleshorts.app website. By using Bible Shorts you accept them. If you don't, don't use the app.

1. What Bible Shorts is

A library of short animated videos retelling stories from the Bible, with the underlying scripture passage available alongside each one. The app creates an anonymous account automatically so your progress can be saved; no sign-up is required.

2. Who can use it

Anyone. The app is rated 4+ and contains nothing requiring an age gate. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms on your behalf, and only they may buy a subscription.

3. Bible Shorts Pro subscriptions

The For You feed, the scripture text, saves, sharing and streaks are free. An optional auto-renewing subscription called Bible Shorts Pro unlocks the complete Storyline in Bible order, offline downloads, and access to new stories on the day they are published.

4. Scripture and content

Scripture quoted in the app is the World English Bible, a modern English translation in the public domain. The videos are our own retellings and are not scripture. They are produced with the help of AI animation tools, they compress and paraphrase, and they are not a substitute for reading the Bible itself — which is exactly why the passage sits one tap away from every video. Where a video and the passage differ, the passage is authoritative.

Bible Shorts is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking on behalf of any church, denomination or religious organisation.

5. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

6. What you may not do

Sharing a link to a story, or showing a video to a class, small group or congregation, is entirely fine and encouraged.

7. Our content

The videos, artwork, narration, scripts, name and design of Bible Shorts belong to us and are protected by copyright. The scripture text does not — it is public domain, and you may quote it freely.

8. Your account and your data

Anonymous accounts are tied to an app installation. If you delete the app without linking your progress to a permanent account, that progress is gone and we cannot recover it. Your subscription, however, is tied to your Apple ID and can always be restored. Deleting your account in the app is permanent and immediate.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the app running, but we don't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or remove stories and features, and we may discontinue the app. If we shut Pro down entirely, we will stop new charges and let existing paid periods run out.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, so parts may not apply to you.

11. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or handle any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation.

12. Ending it

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bible Shorts after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any consumer protection you're entitled to where you live.
